Visuals Manager and Axe Reporter
Sofia Bell, an integral part of the South Eugene paper, had the important role of being the visual editor. Sofia says being visual editor has been “really interesting. I’d say my favorite part is getting to see the visuals that everyone picks for their stories.”
Once she leaves for Oregon State University it goes without saying that the Axe will have lost a valuable worker. Sofia is still undecided on what she will study at OSU, but she has and inclination for marketing. Having been the visual editor for two years, the Axe will surely struggle to find somebody as hard working and knowledgeable as Sofia.
Not to be limited to just the newspaper Sofia also has been part of the red cross club. Newspaper and red cross club have allowed Sofia to do what she enjoys, helping the community.
As her time at South comes to a close Sofia says, “I would say it’s been really good. I’ve been really grateful for all the friends I’ve met these past few years and I’ve made a lot of fond memories.”
Sofia also has some advice for students of South, “I’d say there are a lot of ways you can find your community at South and you just have to look for it but there’s always people here that will have the same interest as you.”
