On the early morning of Sept. 10, Eugene Police Street Crimes Unit, SWAT, Crisis Negotiation, Explosive Disposal, and Drone Team served a search warrant at an apartment complex in the 300 Block of Second Street in Creswell as part of an investigation into firearm and narcotics-related crimes.
Law enforcement arrested Michael Wayne Wesley and Alexandra Mae Dahneke-Krusei. Both were charged with two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of body armor, and unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Dahneke-Krusei additionally faced charges of first-degree assault and first-degree robbery as a suspect in the Glenwood Motel 6 robbery and shooting, which occurred on Aug. 13 in South Eugene near I-5. The raid and arrests in Creswell took place at Wesley’s apartment.

The two other suspects arrested in the Glenwood Motel 6 shooting, Lindsey Marie Kruesi and Douglas Gene Baker, were each charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, and felon in possession of a firearm, according to court charging information dated Aug. 13. Kruesi is the mother of Dahneke-Krusei. On Aug. 15, Baker was also charged with two counts of second-degree attempted murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and two counts of menacing, however it seems these charges may have been dropped, as they were not included in later reports. On Aug. 18, Lane County District Attorney Chris Parosa commented on the attempted murder charges.
“There are a number of reasons why the attempted murder charges were not filed on the front end of this case,” Parosa said in an interview with KVAL news “First, based on the initial information provided by law enforcement we did not believe there was adequate evidence to prove an intent to kill the victims.”
The victim, a male, was shot two times. Shortly after 8:30 a.m., a woman reported to the front desk that her boyfriend had been shot. The Eugene Police Department, Lane County Sheriff’s Office, and Oregon State Police responded to the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital, has undergone surgery and is expected to survive.
Alexandra Mae Dahneke-Krusei appeared in court on Sept. 29. She is currently being charged with two counts of first-degree robbery as well as two counts of second-degree robbery. The state alleged that Dahneke-Krusei tipped off her co-defendants, including her mother, that the victim had won a significant sum from video poker, the alleged motivation for the attack. It was also alleged that she was the one who scoped out the hotel room so her co-defendants could rob the target at gunpoint. The court declined her attorney’s request to reduce her bail from $250,000 to $50,000, citing 10 prior convictions, eight failures to appear in court, two probation violations, and one failure to comply as evidence that there is a high risk that she would reoffend or fail to re-appear. She will stay in custody until her next court appearance on Oct. 22. Her mother, Lindsey Marie-Kreusi, had a court appearance on Sept. 31, and her other co-defendant, Baker, had a court appearance on Oct. 6. At the time of print these trials are still ongoing.
