With summer coming up, here are some exciting things coming up:

Summer 2026 will be packed with exciting releases and events. From thrilling novels to live music, make sure to keep an eye out for some of these fun ways to fill your summer.

For starters, there are many exciting blockbuster movie releases in the coming months to look out for. The Mandalorian and Grogu, coming out on May 22, will be the first Star Wars film since 2019. This film will star the popular duo, the Mandalorian and Grogu, the former played by Pedro Pascal, with the ladder voiced by David Acord. Toy Story 5, coming out on June 19, will be starring Woody, Buzz and Jessie played by Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack. Additionally, The Odyssey will be released on July 17, and will star many notable actors including Zendaya, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway and more. Finally, make sure to keep an eye out for Spiderman: Brand New Day coming out on July 31, where Tom Holland will return for a new Peter Parker story.

Next up, there are many highly anticipated book releases to look out for over this summer. The Divorce by Freida McFadden is a gripping psychological thriller set to release May 26. The Midnight Train by Matt Haig, the sequel to The Midnight Library, will also be coming out on May 26. Finally, Big Little Truths, the sequel to Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty will be released on Aug. 25. 

Additionally, there will be many exciting local events to look out for this summer. The Nike Outdoor Nationals will be hosted at Hayward Field on June 18-22. You can also look forward to the Lane County Fair running from July 22-26. You will get to enjoy live music, thrilling rides, exhibits, furry animals, and entertainment. Finally, you can look forward to some fun 4th of July celebrations with your family and friends. 

Eugene will also be hosting several concerts this summer that you can look forward to. Sturgill Simpson will be at Matthew Night Arena on September 21, Zach Bryan will be at Autzen Stadium on July 25, and Bob Dylan will be at the Cuthbert Amphitheatre on June 9. Along with many others including but not limited to Dark Star Orchestra, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Earth, Wind & Fire and Blues Traveler. 

With so many exciting events and releases coming up this summer, make sure to set aside some time to enjoy them.
