At South Eugene High School winter sports are full steam ahead. The boys and girls basketball teams are preparing for their senior night and to say farewell to senior players. Head coaches Steve Eastburn and George Zaninovich have the players on a strict practice schedule and encourage team building. Across both teams the community and morale is strong. Sachi Schindler, the girls varsity captain and only senior on the team, is gearing up to lead the team to victory for their last home game of the season on February 24. Last week on February 20th the boys and girls both faced off against South Medford,the girls away and  the boys at home for senior night. South students packed the stands to watch their Axe take the win over South Medford as a proper farewell to their senior teammates. The girls senior night will already be passed when this is published but hopefully we saw you there! As always, go Axe!
