With winter sports coming to an end, spring sports are full throttle. Baseball season is beginning and with that comes tryouts! Assistant coach Gavin Bronaugh has scheduled tryouts for March 2nd, everyone is welcome to tryout no matter skill level or experience. The South Eugene High School Baseball team gives student-athletes a chance to hone their skills and compete against other schools in Oregon. The team, like all school programs, focuses on community and sportsmanship. Last season the baseball team faced challenges with only a few wins, however they still placed 7th in their conference and the pitching stats showed strong individual improvements. This season the baseball team will continue to play in Oregon’s highest classification, 6A. Their first game is on March 18th where they will play against rival North Eugene High School. Even if you’re not interested in trying out, be sure to come out to watch a game and support South student athletes. Go Axe!
