After five long years of patience, Hollow Knight: Silksong fans have at last gotten relief from their elongated wait. Team Cherry announced via a brand-new trailer on their YouTube channel that Hollow Knight‘s long-awaited sequel will, in fact, exist one day. Included in this trailer was additional gameplay footage, which confirmed that Silksong’s protagonist will no longer be the controversial character Hornet as predicted – instead, players will explore the world as beloved, fan-favorite Zote! Team Cherry made this decision after finding posts about Hornet on the art site Deviantart, which they say “raised concerns for player’s mental wellbeing.” Further improvements to the game include the implementation of “charming” limited 3D graphics, a new battle mechanic where the player can scream into their console’s microphone to deal damage, and a never-before-seen “Grass Soul” mode, where everything about the world is entirely the same except for a counter in the corner of the screen for every blade of grass cut both inside and outside the game. The trailer suggested 17 different potential release dates, one of which was as soon as Nov. 31st, 2035. Hollow Knight: Silksong will soon be available to play on a printer near you!
