Within the next couple weeks and continuing forward, South is going to reinstate limits on parking lots for students due to complaints from visitors and lack of parking spaces for teachers because of student occupation. Now that the YMCA has moved, the east parking lot has opened up, leaving more space for parking. But perhaps due to the locked doors schedule, students have been parking in the front lot – which is strictly for visitors – and in the back parking lot – which is designated for staff only. The areas for student parking include the east and west lots and the spaces that are against the turf field. In the past, yellow stickers were adhered to car windows to remind students they were in non-student parking. South administration is not sure if that’s the approach they will take this year, but there will be some sort of reminder on students’ cars if they are parked in non-student spaces.
